DVRP provides support to domestic violence survivors within the Asian/Pacific Islander community in DC, regardless of income level, immigration status, and English language proficiency. DVRP’s advocates provide: peer support; safety planning; interpretation and translation; court accompaniment; emergency transportation; financial empowerment and life skills development; assistance in applying for public benefits; referrals for shelter, legal and social services; and other support services as needed. Services are available in the following languages: Cantonese; Farsi; Hindi; Hmong; Japanese; Korean; Mandarin; Nepali; Punjabi; Tagalog; Thai; Vietnamese; and Urdu.

The Domestic Violence/Family Law program at Ayuda offers legal and social services to low-income immigrant victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. All of the staff of the Domestic Violence/Family Law division are bilingual Spanish-English and services are available in additional languages as well. Services are available on a walk-in basis during regular office hours, and include: legal assistance; individual therapy; access to temporary and long -term shelter/housing; day care; housing and rental assistance; employment; English-language classes; food; clothing; and health care for clients and their children.

The Department of Survivor Services at Boat People S.O.S. assists Vietnamese immigrant survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking. Available services include: assistance with immigration relief; mental health counseling; assistance with medical bills; access to food stamps; access to temporary or long-term shelter; and assistance with divorce or child custody proceedings.

La Clínica del Pueblo

La Clínica del Pueblo provides free community health services in the Latino community, including: primary care; mental health and substance abuse services; HIV/AIDS treatment; interpreter services; social services; and health education and outreach. La Clínica del Pueblo provides individual, couple, and family counseling services for a broad range of psychological and psychiatric symptoms, and comprehensive outpatient substance abuse treatment, including support groups and referrals to detoxification and residential programs.

The Tahirih Justice Center specializes in seeking asylum for victims of gender-based persecution. Tahirih's legal services cater to the unique needs of women fleeing human rights abuses, particularly from such underserved areas as Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. Tahirih clients face abuses such as female genital mutilation, rape, torture, honor crimes, forced marriage, trafficking, domestic violence, widow rituals, and sexual slavery.
