Current News:

The DC Council has passed the Accrued Sick and Safe Leave Act-- a groundbreaking piece of legislation which requires District employers to provide paid sick and safe leave for all employees. This bill includes provisions for employees to take time off for court hearings and other matters related to domestic violence. Click here for more information.

On November 1, 2007, Senators Biden and Lugar introduced the International Violence Against Women Act, legislation which would require the US to incorporate gender-based violence relief efforts into its foreign assistance programs. Click here for the full article.

Arlington County has just approved Project Peace, a coordinated community response to domestic violence which includes preventive, protective, and supportive services for victims. Click here to read more about this initiative.
