SAFE Takes on Court-Based Protection Order Preparation Services
After several community meetings and intense discussions, the District’s Office of Victims Services, the D.C. Superior Court, and other stakeholders have agreed to place critical services for domestic violence survivors with Survivors and Advocates for Empowerment (SAFE), Inc. Give a Holiday Meal to Local Domestic Violence Victims
The leaves are changing, the air is cooling, and we're all looking forward to the coming holidays-- good food, sparkling lights, and the love and comfort of family and friends.
We know that you receive many requests at this time, asking for your support for those in our community who do not have all of the comforts that we do. However, today SAFE is asking you for only a small favor as you go about your holiday plans. When you pay a visit to your favorite local grocery store to purchase food and supplies for your holiday meal, we hope that you will take a few moments to add one important item to your shopping basket-- a gift card to your grocery store of choice, to be donated to SAFE.
So many of our clients escape a violent household with little more than the clothes on their backs. The upcoming holidays can be one of the most emotionally trying times for victims, especially those who have young children with them. The trauma of separation from their abuser and struggling to rebuild their lives is worsened by the fear that they may not be able to give their children a warm, satisfying holiday meal.
This year, when you pay a visit to your favorite grocery store to purchase your holiday food supplies, pick up a gift card to donate to SAFE. We distribute these cards to our clients who are in need, so that hunger is at least one thing they don't have to worry about. With your help, our clients and their children can have a happy holiday, too. To find out more email Katy Bristow at kbristow@dcsafe.org or call 202-408-1476.

SAFE is now a part of the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) for the National Capital Area.
