SAFE depends on the generous support of community members like you to continue providing free, high-quality services to domestic violence victims in the Washington, DC region.
How can your donation help?
- $1,000 can sustain SAFE’s volunteer recruitment efforts for one year.
- $500 provides overnight hotel stays for five clients, when no other emergency shelter is available.
- $116 pays for court related advocacy services for one client.
- $50 purchases food for the weekend for a client and two children.
- $20 provides transportation to a client who cannot afford Metro fare.
You can also support SAFE by contributing through the Combined Federal Campaign for the National Capital Area (#85855), by purchasing an item from our Wish List, or through the following additional ways.
Donate Cell Phones
Even without a service plan, cellular phones can be used to dial 911. This connection to emergency services can be a vital lifelink for a victim in crisis. |
Make a Bequest
By including SAFE in your will, you can make sure that your most valued charity is taken care of along with your loved ones. Bequests may include cash gifts or property.
|
Donate Vehicles
The tax-deductible contribution of your unwanted car, truck, boat, RV, or other vehicle to SAFE is a simple and easy way to give. |
Donate Life Insurance
You can designate SAFE as a beneficiary on your life insurance policy, to ensure that you can continue to give after you're gone. |
Donate Securities, Stocks, Bonds, or Mutual Funds
Donating a portion of your investments to SAFE can help us to establish a long-term source of continuous support. You pay no capital gains taxes on investments transferred to SAFE, and should be able to claim a tax deduction for the market value of the gift on the day you made it. |
Donate a Trust
To donate through a trust, you transfer a property or an investment to SAFE. You, or your designated beneficiary, will receive Income from the trust during your lifetime. Upon your death, the remaining value of the trust is paid out to SAFE. |
