the SAFE hub
Not every survivor feels safe calling the police or walking into a courthouse. The SAFE Hub is DC SAFE's answer: a new community-based Critical Intervention Center, built alongside local partners, that gives survivors more ways to find safety and support.
why the safe hub?
Survivors from historically marginalized populations are often the least likely to feel safe turning to law enforcement, courts, or government agencies. Immigrant and LGBTQ+ survivors, as well as survivors navigating disabilities or homelessness, may fear that seeking help could expose them or their families to additional risk.
The SAFE Hub creates another pathway. It brings grassroots, culturally specific, and specialized nonprofits together in one welcoming community space, making it easier for survivors to connect with trusted organizations and access support for the many needs that can affect their safety.
