The Que brings together DC SAFE’s offices, commercial space for nonprofit tenants, and our SAFE Space shelter program.

Our shelter program is the only one of its kind in the District, providing 24/7 immediate placement for survivors and families within an hour of a domestic violence incident. We launched SAFE Space in 2011 to meet the need for dignified, accessible crisis housing that allows survivors to find immediate safety while preserving their existing resources.
the facility
Building our own facility allowed DC SAFE to expand access to secure housing, supportive services, and other necessities. The Que’s 30 apartment-style shelter units can accommodate up to 750 survivors and their children each year. Units range from studios to three bedrooms and are designed to expand and contract based on family size.
The building also provides private entrances for shelter residents, ample space for survivors to meet with DC SAFE Advocates, 24/7 security, laundry facilities, recreational areas for adults, and a rooftop play area for children.
Residents also have access to onsite partners, including The Women's Center, The DC Forensic Nurse Examiners, and partners of The SAFE Hub.

The Que offers flexible office space for 501(c)(3) nonprofits and mission-driven organizations looking for a modern, accessible home in Northeast Washington, DC.
Located in Eckington, The Que is a five-story, 32,251-square-foot Class A office building with modern finishes, large windows, nearby parking, and convenient access to the NoMa-Gallaudet Metro station and major bus routes. The building is also within walking distance of dining, entertainment, fitness, and other neighborhood amenities.
Office space is currently available on the ground and second floors. Suites are ready for immediate occupancy, with flexible options for co-working or full-lease arrangements. Tenant-specific modifications are also possible.
